Values in Action Programme

Values in Action is a learning experience in Character and Citizenship Education (CCE) that enhances students’ development as socially responsible citizens through ownership of their
contribution to the community. Being actively involved in learning about and appreciating the
community develops their sense of commitment in playing their part to make it a better place.

At Cedar, we believe in creating platforms for our Cedarians to putting their values into action through their friends, families and local community. Our VIA activities are based on the 3A principle; Awareness, Action and Advocacy. In various level based activities seen below, the pupils will be given opportunities to create awareness among their peers with regards to environmental issues. They also get to put into action whatever that they had plan for the elderly when they visit and interact with the elderly from the Thye Hua Kwan Senior Activity Centre. Our primary 5 pupils, will advocate the importance of caring for our elderly through their effort in garnering the school support for the yearly Donation Drive.

The pupils together with their teachers went through a serious of discussions before embarking on this journey. The pupils were made aware of the needs of an elderly through insightful activities.
